The Morris DUNSE Slasher is a traditional pattern forged tool, made entirely in the UK.
Designed to cut overgrown vegetation verging towards the woody such as brambles and nettles at arms length.
The blade is gently curved with a 230mm (9″) cutting edge.
Like all Morris tools the cutting bevels are long without shoulders and ground to about 20 degrees.
The robust oval handle is made in unvarnished ash and riveted into the blade’s welded socket, 740mm (29″) long.
Total length 1020mm (40″).
Tool making has been an industry at the Morris Dunsford, (Devon) works for more than 100 years. In our opinion these tools are far better than anything else on the market. This is despite the need for grinding/filing, sharpening and honing to remove flats and/or burrs on the edge.
NOTE: THIS TOOL WILL NEED GRINDING AND SHARPENING BEFORE USE.
SELECT OUR ‘WORKSHOP SERVICE – Sharpening’ ABOVE AND WE WILL DO THIS FOR YOU.
Once initially ground and sharpened, ongoing sharpness should be maintained with canoe stones.
The Morris DUNSE Slasher is a down-to-earth tool designed for professional use and long life.
