Japanese Hassunme Saw CROSS-CUT is a light weight and efficient Japanese pull saw with a thin blade designed to cut across the grain.
Produces a superb end-grain finish and a very thin kerf (saw cut).
The cutting action on this blade is on the draw-stroke cutting as the user pulls, totally the opposite to a traditional western saw.
Once familiar with the pull-only draw-stroke action they are remarkable.
The teeth on this blade can be somewhat delicate so always store in a protective sheath, or at least in the cardboard sheath provided when not being used.
Will keep its sharpness for a long time if used in clean wood and stored carefully.
18 TPI (teeth per inch). Blade 0.5mm thick and 250mm (10″) long.
The handle of the Japanese Hassunme Saw CROSS-CUT will also accept the Hassunme RIPPING BLADE.
Replacement cross-cut and ripping blades available which are straight forward to refit.
