Introduction to Pole Lathe Turning is one day course to learn the basics turning green, unseasoned wood on a treadle operated pole lathe.
Sunday 19 May 2019
- 1 day
- Cost : £100
- Venue: Northumberland Centre for Greenwood Craft at Kirkley Hall Farm.
Starting with a locally sourced hardwood log such as ash or sycamore, we’ll use hand tools such as axes, froes and drawknives to split, shape and shave a billet ready for the pole lathe. Then the fun really begins.
We can make many things from rolling pins to chair legs and tool handles. Anything you make on Introduction to Pole Lathe Turning, you’ll take away.
WARNING: pole lathe turning can be addictive.
