Two day course, cost £85.  Suitable for beginers or intermediate level.

Starting with logs of freshly cut birch, sycamore or cherry, we'll discuss selecting suitable blanks then shaping with specialist axes, gouges and spokeshaves to create functional and beautiful bowls.  The emphasis throughout will be safety, of course, but also technique, creativity and fun!

The workshop space for this course will be within the grounds of Auckland Castle.

Auckland Castle is one of the UK’s most important historical buildings. Since the days of the Norman Conquest in the 11th Century, Auckland Castle has been a seat of power. For almost 900 years, it has been the palace of the Prince Bishops of Durham.
