However, used in conjunction with a Robert Sorby Hookgate (Sizing Tool) can produce accurate tenons on seasoned wood.
The surface of the wood will be quite rough but this helps glue to bond.
Particularly useful for sizing tenons on stool and chair turned components such as legs, stretchers and back sticks.
Made from High Speed Steel (HSS) 9mm (3/8") square section stock.
Total length 420mm (16 1/2") including 230mm (9") beech handle.
The bevels are hollow ground to 50 degrees and will need a final hone before use.
Also available without the handle so you can turn your own.
